As mentioned a few posts below, Manlio Gasparotto and Moreno Pirovano , the volcanic duo "Cooking" Gazza , diary-agenda de the Gazzetta dello Sport , this year I was asked to assist My character Tinì Trantran and Rokko Cipolla a new character, maybe a vampire. So, after having suggested to turn the project to women (at least, with the tranny and macho, I completed the range of sexual tastes ... or I forgot someone?), I started to work.
By chance I came prepared to challenge that. Last summer, in fact, after reading "Dracula cha cha cha" of Kim Newman (Urania n. 1538), an episode of leggerino-leggerino ucronica Italian setting of a series in which vampires live among men in England and saw the throne Dracula ( previous volumes of the series, "Anno Dracula" and "The Bloody Baron," probably more interesting than this, Fanucci has published them), I resolved to "get rid" of all the vampire books, sleeping on the shelves of my library waiting for reading. So I read in the order: the inevitable "Dracula" Bram Stoker , undoubtedly the most fascinating and soon even after a century or so, a couple of novels Anne Rice ("Interview with the Vampire", which soon after I have viewed including the reduction in film - and never the word "reduction" was more appropriate - and "Chosen from Darkness"): the dark and disturbing "Let" the Swede (school interesting on several fronts) John Ajvide Lindqvist , which was made into a blockbuster which I have not seen, the tasteless "List blood "of PN Elrod first volume of the series The Vampire Files featuring the vampire-good journalist Jack Fleming, the adolescent" Twilight " of Stephenie Meyer borrowed from my daughter Serena (right after I watched the movie too), the anthology "vampire story" of Newton & Compton, where I discovered that the first story starring a vampire, titled "The Vampire", wrote the London-based di origini italiane John William Polidori , figlio del segretario di Vittorio Alfieri emigrato in Inghilterra. Non ho invece avuto la forza di andare a rispolverare “Ultimi vampiri” di Gianfranco Manfredi , letto con relativa soddisfazione qualche lustro fa e di cui ricordo ben poco.
Non pago dell'ingozzata, mi sono fatto prestare da mia cognata Elena il primo episodio della divertente serie di romanzi che hanno per protagonista Sookie Stackhouse , una specie di barista-telepate innamorata di un vampiro. L'autrice è Charlaine Harris , e in Italia la pubblica Delos Book. Credo ne abbiano tratto anche un telefilm.
Nonostante tanta preparazione, ho avuto qualche difficoltà a trovare il taglio giusto per la nuova strip. Quello del vampiro è un tema che prima o poi quasi tutti gli “strisciaioli” hanno provato a trattare, soprattutto i principianti, probabilmente attirati dalla constatazione che “non l'ha ancora fatto nessuno”. Salvo scoprire che dipende dall'impraticabilità argument. Nobody, as I understand it, is in fact never gone beyond four or five strips. Two gag on the bite to the neck, another couple on the similarity of blood and wine ... and you do not know what to write. So when I tried to make jokes about the classic theme of vampirism, I too have regularly stopped after three stripes!

I created a entourage vampires, werewolves and Frankenstein canines, and then everything went away liscissimo. Vampire (I know, the pun is a bit 'obvious, but it was so appropriate!) Was officially founded, the jokes came almost by themselves and, as I can judge from author, fun. The commissioners seemed satisfied with it. Moreno wrote me that the first layout of taste that I sent the "fold of the beast"! We hope that the strips do the same final effect to the readers of Gazza .
In the meantime I post a sketch of the first strip and a few "doodle" study of the character on. Curious to know what I chose to look at the end of my vampires? We accept bets. Towards the end of summer, when the agenda will be distributed, will unveil the mystery.
